To My Bahamian Brothers & Sisters

Odette

Dear You,

I am writing this letter to you as a reminder that we are ALL one!! ONE nation and ONE country we stand together. During this time, our family islands, in particular, Abaco and Grand Bahama, have significantly been affected by hurricane Dorian.

This is not a time to debate on politics, nor is this a time for jokes. This is a time where we must all come together as a united front and help our brothers and sisters. It breaks my heart genuinely to see our neighboring family islands suffer so intensively. Lives have been lost, homes, cars, businesses, and so much more.

However, one thing that has not been lost is the strength of our Bahamian people. We are strong, but when we come together, we are stronger. I wholeheartedly believe, with 100% certainty, that we WILL make it out of this. No matter how long it takes, this Christian Nation will make it through.

I don’t think there are any words to describe how our country is feeling at this very moment. The only word I can think of is “Damaged”!! However, I encourage each and every person who may be reading this right now to help in some way. This can be by donating clothes, perishables, money or by volunteering out the kindness of your heart, etc. If you can’t do any of those…just pray. Pray that this country sees it through and that one day, we can all look back at this and remember that we survived.

My Bahamian brothers and sisters, please do not let a day go by without you praying for the islands of Abaco & Grand Bahama. Do not lose your Faith because even though Dorian was a powerful hurricane, the “Man” upstairs (GOD) is even more powerful. I encourage you all again to keep the Faith alive and know that this too shall pass.

Everything is going to be okay. We may have lost family and friends, but YOU are still here and made it through. Remember that!

 Love,

 Azalea
